The 400m³ methane storage tank for the HICAL project has been completed at Zhejiang Dachuan. On the afternoon of August 9, 2025, a delegation of leaders and experts visited No. 2 Workshop at Dachuan, where they inspected the production facilities and the finished product.On the morning of August 10, 2025, the Military Industry Office of SASPG and Hangzhou Chuankong jointly organized a factory acceptance review in Linping, Hangzhou. The meeting was attended by ten experts from the technical design, engineering, and operation units of Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Institute of Space Launch Technology’s Hainan Commercial Aerospace Special Project, as well as leaders from the Military Industry Office of SASPG and Hangzhou Chuankong, and representatives from Hangzhou Chuankong’s project, design process, quality management, and workshop departments.

At the meeting, Lü Xudong, Deputy Director of the Quality Management Department of Hangzhou Chuankong, presented the factory acceptance quality review report for the 400m³ methane storage tank. The experts reviewed the report, examined relevant documents and materials, and conducted thorough evaluations and inquiries regarding the tank’s quality, safety performance, manufacturing process, anti-corrosion measures, material substitutions, product testing, and documentation. They also provided optimization suggestions. After discussion, the experts concluded that the 400m³ methane storage tank has a clear technical status, controlled quality during production, passed in-factory tests and inspections, meets all functional and performance requirements specified in the design documents, and has complete supporting components and factory documentation. It was approved for delivery.

SASPG extended a warm welcome and gratitude to the leaders and experts from HICAL and the Beijing Institute of Space Launch Technology. Recently, the 150m³ methane storage tank, 150m³ liquid nitrogen storage tank, and 11 vaporizers supporting the HICAL project, all manufactured by SASPG, passed their reviews and have been delivered to the site for installation. HICAL praised the quality of the tanks. Finally, the Military Industry Office emphasized that Hangzhou Chuankong must strictly adhere to aerospace launch requirements in technology, production, and quality to contribute to China’s space launch missions.
